So this is the second floor of the Carlton Student Union Building. This is one of my favorite spots on campus. This is the epicenter for student life here. Aside from this being such a great place for students to hang out and study, a lot of organizations also have their meeting spaces here and their offices. The Student Government Association right here, also on the second floor of the Union Building, is one of the most influential organizations on campus. Every single senator in the SGA is actually elected by the students here at Stetson. And fun fact, the president of the SGA actually sits in on Board of Trustees meetings. So there's that student connection as well. So, here at Stetson, we have a resource called Focus Orientation. It's a great way for students to learn more about campus and also to make friends when they get to Stetson. Every single student will also be assigned a Focus Leader who will be their number one lifeline if they need any advice or if they have any questions about anything on campus. Me, personally, I was a Focus Leader for three years. It was a truly rewarding experience being able to help the new freshmen into their college experience. It was also really cool to watch them grow and develop over the course of that single semester.
