Diversity on Stetson's campus looks like the multicultural student organizations here on campus. To name some-- the Black Student Association, the Latinx Student Union, the Caribbean Student Association and Kaleidoscope. Those are the main MSC organizations I'm a part of. The best part for me, and why I actually joined the Black Student Association, was because I knew that I wanted to build a family with other people who look like me, and share the same values and culture as me. And they took me in, and they introduced me to now like my best friends here on campus. So I couldn't ask for more from BSA.
The Cross Cultural Center is kind of like the hub for the MSC organizations. I love the people I see in there. I love talking to them about literally anything. Hillel is a Jewish student organization on campus. They host different events like Shabbat dinners-- that I was able to attend a few years back. And that was a really great experience learning about their culture, the types of food that they eat. And they just got a house, so they're able to have those types of gatherings with their organization and their students who are involved, which is great.
With diversity and inclusion, seeing how the university is taking a better approach and making it, you know, at the forefront of their message to students. Especially like new incoming students, that translates into us as student leaders, and in our organizations to also bring that message out there so people feel comfortable.
